Install the immersive world of Westeros by installing a custom Minecraft mode based on the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series by George R.R. Martin
If you happen to be a fan of both Minecraft and Game of Thrones, you must check out WesterosCraft Launcher. It's a custom launcher that goes beyond what Minecraft has to offer. It adds new custom blocks to make the realms resemble the fictitious world of George RR Martin as close as possible. However, you should keep in mind that it follows the guidelines of the book series, A Story of Ice and Fire, not the Game of Thrones TV show.
Because the vanilla edition of Minecraft has a lot of restrictions, the makers of WesterosCraft improved the Minecraft server using their own plugins and mods. It heavily relies on the suggestions of visitors and builders, and its purpose is to come a true MMORPG.
Explore Westeros in Minecraft using this custom mod
Another cool aspect about WesterosCraft Launcher is that, unklike Minecraft, offers to download and install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) if you don't already have it, thus focusing on providing players with a quick and intuitive gaming platform. You just have to log in using your regular Minecraft account.
Once you reach the main menu, you can find out the number of online and maximum players, as well as configure settings before entering the game. For instance, you can add and manage accounts, set the game resolution, or make the game launch in fullscreen and automatically connect to the server on launch.
Installs Java automatically if you don't have it
When it comes to Java, you can set the minimum and maximum allocated RAM, set the path to the Java executable if it's installed in a different location than default, and specify additional JVM commands. If Java is not installed when you decide to play the game, then the launcher can do this on your behalf, without your intervention.
Once you enter this game, everything should become familiar. You start in a small room filled with instructions (which include no spoilers beyond the first book or first season). It's possible to warp to any houses and even go beyond the Wall.
